A plastic jug with scales marked for common oil to fuel ratios. It measures the right amount of oil for a given amount of petrol, so pre-mix is not guessed.
What it does
It shows how much oil to add for each ratio and quantity of fuel, without any sums. It can also be used to measure other small quantities of liquid.
When to replace it
Replace it when the scale is worn, cracked or no longer readable.
What to match when buying
- A cup with the ratios the engine needs, as given in the manual.
- Sold at motorcycle parts dealers.
- If no cup is available, the amount of oil per litre of fuel is 1000 ml divided by the ratio number.
Fitting notes
Check the scale against the manual ratio before each batch. See Mix two-stroke pre-mix oil and petrol.
