Privacy policy

Moto Zero has no analytics and no advertising. You can use every page without an account, and then what the site remembers about your learning stays in your own browser. If you choose to create a free account (to comment, share photos or keep your progress on several devices), we store only what is needed for that, described below.

01In short

  • An account is optional. Without one, nothing about you is sent anywhere.
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or advertising.
  • Your progress and preferences are stored only in your browser and are never sent to us.
  • A small number of third parties are involved in delivering the site: Google Fonts and the host, Vercel.

02Who is responsible

The site is published by Transitions Lab as part of the Moto Zero open educational programme. For any question about privacy, write to marcel@transitionslab.org.

03What is stored in your browser

To remember your progress without an account, the site uses your browser’s local storage. This data is created and read by the pages on your own device. It is never sent to Transitions Lab or anyone else.

04Third parties

  • Contact form and sign-ups. Messages from the contact form, sign-up notices and brand requests are sent to our inbox through FormSubmit, which forwards them by email.
  • Translation. If you choose a language other than English, the page text is sent to Google Translate to be translated. English pages use no translation service.
  • Listen. The Listen button uses your browser's own voices. Some browsers use online voices, which send the text to the browser maker.
  • Google Fonts. The typefaces load from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. When your browser fetches them, Google receives your IP address and standard request information, as with any web request.
  • Hosting by Vercel. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web server, it keeps technical logs of requests (such as IP address, time, page requested and browser type) for security and operation. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.
  • External links. Some links lead to other sites, such as Sketchfab for the 3D models and transitionslab.org. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow the link.

05If you email us

The contact page opens your own email app; the site itself sends and stores nothing. When you email us, Transitions Lab uses your name, address and message only to answer you, and does not share them or add you to any mailing list. You can ask us to delete the correspondence at any time.

05aIf you create an account

Accounts, comments, photos and saved progress are stored with Supabase, our database provider. We store your email address (to send you a sign-in link), the name you choose, the comments and photos you post, and your course progress. Comments, photos and your chosen name are public on the page where you post them; your email and progress are not. Photos are resized in your browser before upload, which also removes location data. We use this data only to run these features, never for advertising, and never sell or share it. You can delete your own comments at any time; to delete your account and everything linked to it, email marcel@transitionslab.org.

06Deleting your data

To clear your learning progress, use Reset progress on the My progress page. To remove everything the site has stored, clear the site data for this website in your browser settings (often under Privacy, Cookies and site data). Private or incognito windows delete it automatically when closed.

07Your rights

Without an account we hold no personal data about you. With an account you may ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion at any time. If you have emailed us, you may ask for a copy of that correspondence or ask us to delete it.

08Changes to this policy

If the site starts to handle data differently, this page will be updated first and the change noted on the Updates page.
